911 Mason-Oceana Millage Passed

With more yes votes in Mason and Oceana County, the Mason-Oceana 9-1-1 new millage request of .14 mills for six years passed on yesterday's ballot. The new millage request will help fund the center through 2019, the year when all bond payments on the center are complete. The increase will finance equipment, the facility and the day-to-day operations of a 9-1-1 dispatch service center. The millage was necessary due to persistent declines in the center's surcharge revenues that account for 78% of their funding.
