New Deer Poaching Laws in Michigan

New laws are in effect regarding deer poaching in Michigan. The DNR announced yesterday that the new laws change the penalties of poaching.

If someone gets caught poaching a deer it's a thousand-dollar fine...and an additional thousand for any antlered deer. Eight to ten point deer adds $500 for each point and eleven or more points, racks up an additional $750 per point. Poachers will also lose their hunting license for a longer period of time. New rules and higher fines are also in place for those who trespass and hunt.
