Applebee's in Ludington Destroyed

Firefighters were on scene at Applebee's in Ludington this morning. Pere Marquette and Ludington fire departments were dispatched to the restaurant just after 4am after reports of heavy smoke coming from the building. 

Ludington Fire Chief confirmed the reports and said the fire started from the Applebee's kitchen. Scottville Fire and Life EMS were also called to the scene. The cold temperature posed difficulties for officials and an excavator was used to demolish part of the building to allow better access for firefighters. the fire is currently being investigated by a michigan state police fire marshal. the restaurant is said to be destroyed.
