WMOM has been awarded the 2017 Station of the year by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. It was the largest award show ever according to organizers with 93 stations providing over 960 entries.
“The team at WMOM works hard everyday to create quality radio for the lakeshore.” said Patrick Lopeman, owner of 102.7 WMOM.FM, “It’s encouraging to see their hard work rewarded.”
On-Air Personality A.J. Guertin won best regularly scheduled weekday personality for his Attack of the Decades show. “It’s been a lot of fun.” A.J. said, “I’m extremely grateful to share this with the listeners.”
Nick Sims, known locally for his creative commercials and voices, won best commercial for his production of the 2017 Manistee Ghost Ship advertisement. “It’s amazing to be recognized for something I’m so passionate about.” said Nick Sims.
102.7 WMOM.FM was also honored for their outreach, receiving a merit in Community Involvement for work done in the 2017 Lake Jump, Shop with a Cop Pie Auction and spotlighting the work of many community minded individuals and non-profits.
“It’s a joy to bring people from all over our community to talk about the issues important to them.” said Kendra Carr, On-Air personality and News Director, “We’ve really enjoyed speaking with passionate people who create and support Michigan.” Kendra Carr was honored with a merit in Newscast.
