The circus is coming to Scottville! Children 10 and younger are invited to Circus Day at the Mason County District Library in Scottville, Tuesday, August 6th from 1-4pm. There will be a bouncy house, games and prizes, Pixie's Ponies, and balloon animals with John Marek. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is free.
The P.E.O. Chapter FG of Ludington invites the public to a special program given by Carmen Kucinich, FBI Victim's Specialist, entitled Human Trafficking: Modern Day Slavery and Victim Assistance. This presentation focuses on domestic minor sex trafficking. This program will be held at the United Methodist Church of Ludington on Tuesday, August 6th from 7 to 8:30pm.
Students entering 6th through 9th grade this fall, are invited to explore their artistic side at the Mason County District Library with a series of two-day classes presented through the generosity of the West Shore Art League. Students may register for ONE class only. Registration forms are available at the Mason County District Libraries in Ludington and Scottville. These classes are free but no-shows will be billed for supplies. Cancellations will be accepted up to 24 hours before the class begins.
Painting will be held Wednesday, August 7th from 10am to 12pm & Thursday, August 8th from 2-4pm at the Ludington Library.

St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Free Soil is having its Annual Chicken BBQ on Sunday, August 11th. Dinner will be served at noon. Cost is $9 for adults, $3 for children 10 and under, preschool children are free. Live music will be provided by Virgil Baker and the Just-4-Fun Band. There will also be children's games, homemade desserts, and a cash raffle with prizes totaling $1,000. Proceeds will go towards the upkeep of St. John Catius Parish.
Pentwater Township Library is hosting Tobin Buhk, author of True Crime Michigan, on Wednesday, August 7 at 7:00 P.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater. His book is Great Lakes crime at its best…or worst. Tobin Buhk’s presentation will take you on a trip back through Michigan’s bloody past. There will also be a collection of historic wanted posters to browse. Free admission.
