A new study shows that Michigan's high school graduation rate is under the national average. According to Education Week, Michigan is almost 4% below the average, and is placed at number 40 in the nation.
The study uses data from 2010 graduates, which shows that nearly 71% of Michigan students graduated... Compared to the national average of about 75%. Between 2000 and 2010 the average increased by 8% while decreasing by 2% in Michigan. The report revealed that Vermont had the highest graduation rate of 85% and DC had the lowest at 57%.
