A Whitehall mother gets her jail bond reduced this week.
57-year-old Susan Gail Vanderlaan has been in the Muskegon County Jail since last month on a felony charge for allegedly providing her son with prescription painkillers. According to Mlive.com, a judge reduced Vanderlaan's $10,000 cash bond to a PR bond, which only requires her to show up to future court dates. Authorities say Vanderlaan allegedly gave her 17-year-old son Norco, a prescription painkiller which contains a narcotic pain reliever, many times over a period of months in 2013. She had a warrant out for her arrest but turned herself in to police in April when she returned home from Florida. She will be back in court for a probable-cause hearing later this month.
