Former Hart City Council member, Tim Shannon, pleads no contest to second-degree murder of his wife.
Shannon made the plea yesterday and will be sentenced July 15th. A no-contest plea isn't an admission of guilt but will be treated as a guilty plea by the judge, when sentenced. The Oceana County Prosecutor will be asking for a minimum of 20 years in prison, but the judge can set a maximum sentence of up to life in prison. Shannon's wife, Lee-Ann died in late December in the couple's bathtub. Shannon reported the death as an accident but the case eventually turned into a homicide investigation. Shannon has been in the Oceana County Jail since his arrest.
