Hit-and-Run Suspect Waives Preliminary Hearing

The man accused of a hit-and-run against a Mason County Central teacher waives his right to a preliminary hearing. 

According to the Mason County Press, 24-year-old Brian Keith Blackburn, of Ludington, was supposed to appear in court yesterday but his hearing will now be delayed, at the request of his attorney. Blackburn is facing five different charges with the hit-and-run accident of 50-year-old Scott Dumas of Scottville. Blackburn is accused of driving while intoxicated and hitting Dumas in the Shop-N-Save parking lot on April 16th. Dumas has been at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids since the accident and is currently going through therapy. Blackburn is being held at the Mason County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
