Montague Fire Chief Charged for Domestic Dispute

The Montague Fire District Chief is charged with a felony assault.

51-year-old Dennis Roesler was arraigned on Thursday on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and firearm possession under the influence. Mlive.com reports the fire chief allegedly threatened his wife while intoxicated with a 9-mm handgun during a domestic dispute. His lawyer stated that this case is a "misunderstanding" between both parties. Roesler, whom is a licensed gun holder and says he was not intoxicated at the time of the incident. He is currently out on a $7,000 cash bond.
