The body of the man found in Mason County has been identified.
According to police in Sheboygan, Wisconsin the man is 49-year-old Allen L. Townsend, who has been missing since November. An autopsy was performed yesterday at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, which concluded the body was of an African American man, almost 6 feet in height with two tattoos on his chest. Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole contacted surrounding areas and states regarding missing people reports. The body was found Tuesday night by three bicyclists just a few miles away from Big Sable Point Lighthouse. No foul play is suspected.
