Adoption Bills Passed by MI Senate

The Michigan Senate passes three bills to ease the adoption process.

The bills were passed last week and are now headed to Governor Snyder's desk for signing. One bill would shorten the time for finalizing adoption from six to three months of a child less than a year old. Another law gives consent to out-of-court adoptions and gives birth parents the right to change their minds within five business days. The final bill clarifies the adoption rights of unmarried fathers.
