Michigan Receives $16.7Mill in School Grants

Michigan is receiving almost $17 million to help low-performing schools.

The U.S. Department of Education announced they will be dividing $95 million in School Improvement Grants amongst ten states. Once Michigan receives the grant, it is up to the state to distribute the money through sub-grants to low-achieving school districts. However, those school districts must commit to providing adequate resources to raise student achievement.
