Grant for Maritime Museum

The new Port of Ludington Maritime Museum receives a grant of $790,000.

At last night's city council meeting it was announced that most of the money to transform the former Coast Guard station into the maritime museum will come from the Michigan Department of Transportation Enhancement Program... which promises to cover 80% of the costs. About $160,000 will be matched by the Mason County Historical Society. The Historical Society is committing to the operation and maintenance of the museum once the project is complete.
