National Unemployment Rate for January

The national unemployment rate is at a five-year low.

The report for January was released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday and shows that the unemployment rate is the lowest it's been since 2008. The U.S. added 113,000 jobs in January, dropping the jobless rate from 6.7% to 6.6%. Michigan's January figures have not yet been released.
