Great Lakes Ice Coverage

The Great Lakes ice coverage is increasing at a rapid rate. 

According to, the Great Lakes have reached 62% ice coverage. Lake Superior and Lake Huron are about 70% covered, Lake Michigan is half way while Lake Erie is just about totally covered. Lake Ontario is the least ice-covered with just below 30%. It is predicted that in the next few weeks, the Great Lakes will become mostly ice-covered and if the third arctic outbreak hits, Michigan will experience some of its coldest temperatures this winter.
