Child Sex Solicitation Laws

Tougher laws on child sex solicitation are coming about in Michigan.

The Michigan House voted, last week, to increase the penalities placed on soliciting sex from a minor. The current law sees the crime as a misdemeanor punishable by up to 93 days in jail. The new law will make it a felony with a maximum sentence of five years in prison. The bill is now at the Senate for consideration.
