Winter Storm Warning

A winter storm warning is in effect for Mason County until 8am tomorrow. The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued the warning for blowing and drifting snow. A wind chill warning is also in effect until 7pm tomorrow. Snow showers will continue throughout the day today, with two to four inches of snow expected. Winds will reach 30-40mph causing wind chill to drop between 20 and 30 below zero. Blizzard conditions can be expected at times, especially near the open country. Remain indoors as it will be unsafe to be outdoors the next two days for prolonged periods of times.  The Michigan Department of Transportation reminds motorists to adjust speeds based on conditions and to take it slow in the ice and snow.
