Eric Knysz's mother is arrested in the Trooper Butterfield murder case. Michigan State Police arrested 50-year-old, Tammi Lynne Spofford, of Irons, yesterday.
Spofford is being accused of helping the Knyszes in stealing a vehicle shortly after shooting Butterfield, the night of September 9th. Two weeks ago, Eric's wife, Sarah, pled guilty to accessory after the fact and motor vehicle theft and is expected to be sentenced next month. Her husband's trial begins in February. Spofford was arraigned this morning on charges of accessory after the fact to a felony and unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle. Each carries a five year sentence. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 27th and a $35,000 cash bond was set for Spofford.
