Newaygo. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Hart Post arrested a 21 year old Fremont, Michigan women on a three count warrant. The women, whose name is being withheld pending formal arraignment, has been charged with two counts of Eavesdropping and one count of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.
Troopers were contacted by administrators of the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in September of 2013. The care facility reported that an employee may have taken a photograph of a patient and distributed it to others via an electronic means. The Michigan State Police, Sixth District Computer Crimes Unit, assisted with retrieving data to confirm the allegation.
The suspect will be arraigned in the 78th District Court of White Cloud on October 31st, 2013. The most serious charge, Eavesdropping, is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
