27 people are in custody after a five-county marijuana bust.
500 plants were seized on Wednesday after a year-long investigation against the group, the Medical Marijuana Team, or MMT. MMT had operations in Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, Oceana, and Grand Traverse counties and used their grow locations to grow and sell marijuana beyond sick patients. Officials on the case used wire taps and secret surveillance to gather evidence. All 27 suspects were charged yesterday in Grand Rapids Federal Court with conspiracy to manufacture and deliver.
