Count Day in Michigan

Today is count day for schools across the state.

Public schools will get a head count of how many students are in attendance today, which help determine their level of funding. Student attendance counts for 90% of the school's funding. On average, a school receives just over $7,000 for each full-time student that is counted. Districts around Michigan are urging parents, teachers, and members of the community to help spread the word on Count Day and making sure kids are in school today.
