Bow Hunting is now in season, but hunters need to be aware of new restrictions.
Twelve counties in Northern Michigan have to comply with the new Antler Point Restrictions, which only allows hunters to take out a deer with a minimum of three points on one side. These counties include Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmett, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Lake, Manistee, Mason, Missaukee, Osceola and Wexford. The Antler Point Restrictions ensures that young buck don't get killed too soon. A survey by the DNR shows that about 70% of hunters approve the new regulation.
