The City of Muskegon suspends the liquor license at the club where last week's mass homicide occurred.
Last Sunday, a shooting took place at the Elks Charity Lodge, which left three dead and four injured. The Muskegon Police Department, along with the city, petitioned the Michigan Liquor Control Commission to issue an emergency suspension order for the establishment. A press release from the City of Muskegon, states that Police have been called to the Elks Charity Lodge more than 20 times, this year alone. In addition to last week's shooting, another shooting, from June, also led to the city's decision. The press release also states, that the Lodge has been operating outside the liquor license guidelines by serving alcohol to non-members. Police ask anyone with tips in relation to September 22nd's shooting to please call the Muskegon Police Department at 231-846-8477 or the Silent Observer at 231-72-CRIME.
