Grand Valley State University honored the late Cullen Finnerty at Saturday night's game.
Finnerty, a former quarterback for the school, was found dead in late May after he went missing during a weekend fishing trip near Baldwin. The Lakers held a video tribute, during halftime, and presented his family with two large framed photos during his playing days. Finnerty led Grand Valley to three NCAA Division II National Titles. He also has a career record of 51-4 as a quarterback. His autopsy report showed that he died of pneumonia, which was brought on by painkillers and a degenerative brain disease.
