Memorial Medical center held a press conference this morning to announce they will be changing their name.
Starting October 1st, MMC will become Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. CEO and President of MMC, Mark Vipperman, said this is the right choice and will benefit the community for years to come. Spectrum Health's CEO and President, Richard Breon, said this decision is a culmination of many years working together. He also said that we can expect to see great things in the future. As part of the agreement, Spectrum Health will provide $6 million for health care to benefit Ludington and the hospital. In addition, over the next 10 years, Spectrum will give $46 million to MMC for upgrades and to assist in recruiting physicians.
