The man who went missing with his three kids over the weekend in Leelanau County is sentenced.
Daniel Gerard Elliot, of the Metro Detroit area, was arraigned this morning in Emmett County and charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. Elliot and his three children were reported missing Sunday evening by his wife. Police say Elliot and his wife had a physical confrontation in Petoskey, before he took the kids to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore. A 40-person team spent 12 hours searching for the family before finding them Monday night, healthy and safe. The judge raised Elliot's bond from $10,000 to $100,000 and ordered him to mental health evaluation before being released. His pretrial is set for September 11th.
