Two women from the Muskegon area are in jail for falsely fundraising for Jessica Heeringa.
According to mLive, police say the women were standing outside of a Wal-Mart in Roosevelt Park, in May, attempting to collect money from people. The women claimed it was to help send Heeringa's 3-year-old son to Chuck E. Cheese's. 56-year-old, Joann Vaughn, was sentenced to 45 days in jail for larceny by false pretenses and 56-year-old, Susan Louise Adams, was given 93 days in jail. Currently, there are only two legit fundraisers for Heeringa, the Muskegon County Silent Observer - Jessica Heeringa Reward and the Jessica Heeringa Family Fund. There is a $15,000 reward for anyone with information. Anyone with tips is asked to contact the Silent Observer at 231-72-CRIME or the Norton Shores Police Department.
