A five-year park project in Muskegon County will be moving forward with construction.
WZZM reports that the Lakeshore Museum Center is building Michigan's Heritage Park in Whitehall. "The park will take visitors on a trail and journey through Michigan, long before it became a state," says a spokesperson of the Lakeshore Museum Center. The park will include a number of things that shaped Michigan's history such as an Ottawa Indian village and an 1880's farm house. The objective is for people to be involved and visitors can expect to help bake bread, cut logs, and build canoes. Michigan's Heritage Park is expected to open in summer 2015 and attract thousands of visitors annually.
