The number of drunk and drug-related driving arrests has increased in Michigan.
According to The Drunk Driving Audit, just over 37,000 arrests were made statewide in 2012. Deaths resulting from under-the-influence crashes, increased by over 7% from 2011 to 2012. Injuries also saw a jump in numbers. The study as well revealed that men were three times more likely to be arrested for impaired driving. Last year alone, over 27.5 thousand men were arrested compared to 9.5 thousand women. However, in the past five years, these numbers have seen a decline.
