Troopers from the Michigan State Police Hart Post arrested a 28 year old North Muskegon man for Operating While Intoxicated, Possession of Marijuana, and Resisting and Obstructing Police. The man has been lodged at the Oceana County Jail.
The investigation began when troopers were dispatched to a traffic crash on Buchanan and 118th in Oceana County’s Ferry Township. On scene troopers observed a vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a crash. Further investigation resulted in the troopers locating a person walking in a wooded section of property near the crash. The man admitted to driving the crashed vehicle and walking away.
The driver admitted to consuming alcohol and sobriety tests conducted at the scene led to the arrest of the driver. After being secured with handcuffs, the suspect attempted to escape custody, but his attempt failed. The driver was also found to be in possession of an amount of suspected marijuana.
His name is being withheld pending arraignment in the 79th District Court of Hart.
