Troopers from the Michigan State Police Hart Post arrested a 40 year old New Era man in connection with a stabbing incident.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 30th at a residence in Clay Banks Twp. The incident was a continuation of a disagreement between the Victim and Suspect that began at a bar earlier that evening, and culminated with the Victim being stabbed in the back with a large hunting style knife. The Victim was treated and released from a local hospital where the knife was successfully removed.
Troopers located and arrested the Suspect yesterday, July 3rd, and he was lodged in the Oceana County Jail on a charge of assualt with intent to commit great bodily harm, which carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.
The Suspect's information is being withheld pending arraignment.
