About a dozen people expressed their concern over the roads at the Riverton Township Hall meeting last night.
Residents conveyed their unhappiness with unpaved roads. The road commission let the public know that their main focus is getting the major roads paved first, such as Stiles... and that when they have enough money they would focus on the other ones. Some other concerns were brought to light including long grass on intersections which is hindering people's views when driving. Also, Sippy Road was a safety concern for people because many kids cross the road to get to the lake. The public felt as if a sign should be placed to warn drivers. The commission approved the suggestion and will be looking into adding signs, on both directions, to raise awareness to drivers. The next township meeting will be held on August 5th.
