Wolf Hunt Comes to an End in MI

Michigan's first wolf hunt has officially come to an end. The Michigan DNR's website reports that as of 12am, today, 23 wolves were killed since the season opener on November 15th. A target harvest of 43 was set but hunters in the three areas of the U.P. fell short...most likely due to cold weather conditions. Whether the wolf hunt will continue in the future is unknown right now... but the DNR will present a new recommendation to the Natural Resources Commission this summer. The total wolves reported in Michigan, before the hunt, was 658.

Muskegon Man Still Wanted

Muskegon police are still searching for the suspect involved in a deadly house party shooting. An arrest warrant was issued last week, charging Deontay DeMarco Black-Wicliffe with open murder, three counts of assault with intent to murder and felony firearm. On December 21st, Black-Wickliffe allegedly fired a handgun into an open crowd... which killed 21-year-old Gary Lee Ogreen and wounded three others. According to law officials, an altercation broke out after a group of uninvited guests showed up to a house party in Fruitland Township. One man has already been charged with involuntary manslaughter and two others were charged for lying to police during the investigation.  A $5000 reward is being offered to lead to the arrest and conviction of Black-Wickliffe.
