Ludington Elks Closing Forever.

The local Elks club #736 in downtown Ludington has closed.  The closure was discovered when the Ludington lodge was no longer on the national website.  The national headquarters verified that the local club had been closed. A spokeman told mom news that last week John Amen (A-men), National leader of the Elks issued an executive order to merge the local club into the Manistee Elks.  That means that  the assets and liabilities will be absorbed by the Manistee lodge.  It also means that the downtown Ludington facility is gone forever.  The Elks club peaked with a 1.6 million membership in 1981 to 800,000 today.
