Its Kids and Ladies Day for the Offshore Classic

Its kids and ladies day today at the offshore classic. Despite heavy showers this early morning, the tournaments continued on as the rain recessed. Among the scores of boats on the water today we were invited to talk with the "Fin girls" that were on the Dream Weaver boat. The women are fishing in the women's tournament today. We spoke with them briefly on "Moms Morning MadHouse" to see if the fish were biting. Shelly from the fin girls actually helped bring a fish live on the air.

Listen to WMOM news today for the whole story.

Hot Weather this Weekend

Mlive reports. Hot weather that Michigan residents haven't felt in two years is on the way this weekend.

Wednesday and Thursday will be comfortable, with temperatures in the 70s, but Friday will be much different with high humidity making it feel like 90.

Saturday and Sunday should make it into the low 90s in all of the southern half of Lower Michigan. It might even make it to 90 degrees in parts of northern Lower Michigan. The humidity will also be higher, making it feel like mid-90s in southern Michigan.

If we have two 90-degree days in a row, it will be the first time in any Michigan city since July 19, 2013.

This isn't a long stretch of 90-degree weather on the way. A stormy period late Sunday into Monday will be followed by a cool-down into the lower 80s.

Rotary Commits to Improving Ludington

The Ludington City Park will be seeing some major upgrades and a name change.  $300,000  has been committed by the Rotary Club to improving lighting, new electrical capabilities for the band shell, two new picnic areas, new restrooms, all at no extra cost to the tax payer. The park would now be called Rotary Park, and the Kiwanis band shell renamed the Rotary Band Shell. This would establish Rotary's permanent presence in the community. The fountain will also see an upgrade in a separate deal via the Love Ludington campaign and Rotary.
