Mom’s B-day Bash Contest Rules




1.    ELIGIBILITY:The Promotion is offered and open only to legal residents of Michiganandat least 18 years old and of legalage of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at time of participation. Employees, officers and directors of Great Lakes Ford (“Sponsor”), WMOM Radio (Intermediary) any participating promotional companies and prize providers, their respective parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotional agencies, web masters and web suppliers, and entities involved in the creation of Promotion materials, and members of the immediate family (spouse, children, siblings, parents) or persons living in the same household (whether or not related) of such employees, officers and directors are not eligible. Groups, clubs, organizations, commercial entities, and businesses cannot participate.  By participating, you agree to these Official Rules and to all decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. Void where prohibited.


2.    PROMOTION PERIOD:Promotion period begins on September 16, 2015 and ends on September 26, 2015, 10:30 a.m. EST.  All Entries must be received no later than September 26, 2015


3.    ENTRY:  To enter, visit Great Lakes Ford, 3045 US-10, Ludington, MI 49431,or Mattress Max, 115 W Ludington Ave, Ludington, MI 49431,and speak to one of their sales people. Listeners can also tune in to 102.7 fm for a chance to win additional entries. Limit one entry per day per person.



All entries will be collected and placed inside the drawing drum on Saturday September 26th 2015. Starting at 11 am one contestant will be drawn from the drum every hour until there are three contestants. You must be present to win, winners will be given 1 minute to report to a contest official after their name has been called. If they fail to report in the allotted time another time will be drawn until that spot is claimed. The three contestants are then required to stay at the event until the contest is held after 1 pm. A Contestant may only be drawn one time, if there name is drawn a second time it will result in an immediate redraw. Only one contestant is allowed per household. If a name is drawn and they share the same address as a contestant that has already been selected they will be deemed ineligible and a new name will be drawn.

Each contestant will be given a set of FORTY (40) sealed and uniquely‑numbered envelopes.  Each set of 40 envelopes will consist of:

Five (5) of the envelopes will contain the message Ford Mustang representing the Grand Prize;

Six (6) of the envelopes will contain the message Mattress Max representing the First Prize;

Nine (9) of the envelopes will contain the message Shopping Spree representing the Second Prize;

and twenty (20) of the envelopes will contain the message Gift Card representing the third Prize. 

The contestant must open envelopes until there are five (5) envelopes containing messages of the same prize level. The contestant must stop afterfive (5) envelopes containing messages of the same prize level have been revealed, thus determining the prize amount the contestant wins. If more than five (5) envelopes for any one (1) Prize Level have been opened by a contestant, then the Sponsor is relieved of all liability for that contestant and no prizes will be awarded.


5.   PRIZE/ODDS/LIMITS ON PRIZES AVAILABLE:(1) Grand Prize: 2015 Roush Ford Mustang valued at $54,000, Limit One Grand Prizes available. Odds 1/500.  (2) First Prize: $4,000 in furniture from Mattress Max, Limit One First Prizes available. Odds 1/100 (3) Second Prize:  $400 shopping spree at STORE, Limit One Second Prizes available. Odds 1/14 (4) Third Prize:  $102.70 gift card from STORE, Limit Three Third Prizes available. Odds 1/1.09  In the event that more than one contestant wins the First, Second or Grand Prize then the prize will be awarded to the first contestant to draw it and the other contestants will be asked to keep drawing until another prize is won.  The odds of being chosen as a contestant are dependent upon the number of entries received. Prize are not transferable and may not be given, bartered, sold, or exchanged for another prize. No Cash Option is available and winners agree to purchase the specified vehicle, furniture or shopping spree if they win.  All taxes on any prize awarded are the sole responsibility of the winner.


6.    GENERAL CONDITIONS: Potential winner, if any, will be required to complete, execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and where lawful, a Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days of the date of the win.  In the event winner fails to timely return documents, or prize is returned as non-deliverable, or if potential winner is found not to be eligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, disqualification may result. No alternate winner will be selected. By accepting a prize, where permitted by law, potentialwinner grants to Sponsor and Sponsor’s designee, (which grant will be confirmed in writing upon request of Sponsor), its parents, subsidiaries and related companies, and those acting pursuant to the direction of Sponsor, the right to print, publish, broadcast and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the World Wide Web, at any time or times, the winner's full name, photo, picture, portrait, or other likeness, voice and indicia of persona, and biographical information as news or information, and for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes without additional compensation or consideration, and without notification, review or approval.


Each participant, as a condition of participating, releases and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor, the prize provider, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents,successorsand assigns from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to person(s), including death, and property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize or participation in any Promotion related activity, or participation in this PromotionThe winner shall bear all risk of loss or damage to his/her prize after it has been delivered.


Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual from the Promotion that it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process, or the operation of the Promotion, to be acting, or be, in violation of the Official Rules; or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person or interfere in any manner with any aspect or portion of this Promotion. Any use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed, copied, or like entry methods, will void all such entries by any such methods, and will disqualify any participant using such methods.




a) Any attempted participation by means other than those permitted by these Rules, is void. Sponsor and any participating promotion agencies or prize providers will not be responsible for lost, late, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, illegible or postage-due entries; or any technical error or failure, or unauthorized human intervention, or for the inaccurate capture of entry or other information, or the failure to capture any such information.  Sponsor is not responsible for contacting any participant if that participant has changed contact information and failed to provide Sponsor with the proper contact information when such information is required.


b) Neither Sponsor nor any participating promotion agencies or prize providers are responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate informationor for any faulty or failed electronic data transmissions, lost, late, damaged, misdirected entries, incomplete or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause). If, for any reason, the Promotion is not capable of running as planned for any reason which Sponsor, in its sole opinion, deems could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, modify or suspend this Promotion, in whole or in part, and if possible, to select the Contestants from entries received prior to the action taken or as otherwise may be deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion; or to be acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be in violation of the Official Rules; or to be acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be unsportsmanlike or disruptive, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion.




9.  MISCELLANEOUS:  This Promotion is subject only to the laws ofMichiganin the United States. Prizes will be awarded and/or delivered only to addresses within the United States. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.  Additionally, Sponsor reserves the right to prosecute any fraudulent activities to the full extent of the law.  Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROMOTION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.


10.ARBITRATION/CHOICE OF LAW:  Except where prohibited, participants in the Promotion agree that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion, or any prizes awarded, or the administration of the Promotion or the determination of winners, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by arbitration, to take place in the State of Michigan, U.S.A. pursuant to the Rules of the American Arbitration Association, then effective, (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Promotion but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will a participant be permitted to obtain awards for and participants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant(s) and Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflicts of law doctrine.

Highlights of an Eventful Weekend for the Mason County Sheriffs Office.

09/12 @ 8:20 PM        Motorcycle crash, minor injuries, Pere Marquette Hwy near the US31 Freeway off ramp (Pere Marquette Township), 51 year-old Hart man laid his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle down to avoid a vehicle which was pulling off the freeway on ramp and onto Pere Marquette Hwy

09/13 @ 7:29 AM       Resist & Oppose Officer x 2, Felony Assault on Officer, Domestic Violence, Child Endangerment, Evidence Tampering, Synthetic Narcotic Use, 1900 block of E. Fountain Road (Sherman Township), 32 year-old Free Soil woman was arrested following a 911 call to a residence in Sherman Township.  She reportedly assaulted a male in the home and then fought with deputies. During the arrest she spit on deputies while telling them she had hepatitis C. 

09/13 @ 9:06 AM       Bicycle crash w/critical injuries, E. Trail Ridge near Larson (Sheridan Township), 10 year-old Fountain boy was critically injured after the bicycle he was operating ran off a steep embankment and into several trees.  He was transported to Spectrum Health/Ludington Hospital by Life EMS and then flown to Grand Rapids by Aero Med with serious head injuries 

09/13 @ 2:30 PM        Explosion with injuries, Morton/Modjeski Road area—private property (Grant Township), 49 year-old Muskegon man received serious leg injuries after a group of men shot a 55 gallon metal barrel which contained 2 pounds of Tannerite with a rifle.  The barrel splintered into several jagged pieces.  One travelled over 150 feet striking the victim who was seated behind a tree with his leg exposed.  A piece of debris nearly severed the victim’s leg.    

16th Sculpture on 'Sculpture Trail' Unveiled Today

A new bronze sculpture sponsored by Terry and Sandy Luxford is being dedicated today in front of the Mason County Sheriffs Office.  "Helping Hand" created by artist Colette Pitcher of Greely, Co.  depicts a uniformed officer extending a hand and a smile.

The sculpture honors law enforcement officers along with commemorative plaques that memorialize the ultimate service of four officers who lost their lives in the line of duty; Trooper Paul Butterfield II, Deputy Sheriff Arlo Slagle, Deputy Sheriff Max Altman and Deputy Sheriff Robin Arnold. Dedication is today @5pm in front of the Mason County Sheriff's Office.

This will be the 16th piece of public art located along the Mason County Sculpture Trail. 

Mike Nagle Book Signing and Presentation Tonight at Stearns Inn

Tonight the public is invited to attend local author Mike Nagles presentation "Justus S. Stearns - The Life and Legend"  at the very hotel that the luber baron and businessman built in 1901.

In his presentation, Nagle hopes to address the history of the lumber industry in Mason County, but will also discuss the unique contributions of Justus Stearns as a lumber baron, as well as a philanthropist.


The Stearns Inn will host the special event at 7pm the presentation will be followed by  book signing and light refreshments.
